12-stage starch washing hydro-cyclone

Post on 2023-04-25

Working principle

According to the difference in the density of starch, protein and tiny fibers in starch milk, under pressure, starch milk entering the hydro-cyclone in the tangential direction continuously separates starch and impurities through centrifugal action, and the concentration of starch increases, while the washing water flows in a countercurrent manner. The impurities contained in the starch milk are graded to remove the protein and tiny fibers contained in the starch milk.

Work process

In starch production, 12-stage cyclones are often used to form a starch milk refining washing hydro-cyclone unit. The washing water enters the last stage (concentration cyclonette) from the last stage and is mixed with the underflow of the previous stage, and the underflow of the last stage is refined starch milk; the last stage overflow and the bottom flow of the last three stages are mixed into the last stage, and so on, the second stage overflow and the separator underflow are mixed into the first stage; the first stage overflow is used to clarify and concentrate and return to the main stage separation. In addition, all levels of the cyclone unit are equipped with feed pumps, the first stage is equipped with a rotary filter, the last stage is equipped with a washing water flow meter and a washing water desander, and the first and last stages are also equipped with concentration measuring cylinders.

Starch washing cyclonette(10mm) processing capacity

At present, the number of  cyclonettes in the final stage of the domestic 12-stage washing cyclone is roughly configured according to the production of 1000kg of commercial starch per cyclonette. The number of the second stage and the final stage is approximately the same. The first stage is approximately the same, and the number of first-stage pipes can be placed at 270-300l/piece.h, which is the general rule of the number of pipes at all levels in the domestic application of 12-stage washing cyclones.
